Home Instead Senior Care | Company Review
In 1994, Paul and Lori Hogan began serving seniors in Omaha, Nebraska as Home Instead Senior Care. Because of his own experience caring for his aging grandmother, Paul Hogan realized the need for elder companionship and non-medical home care services that would enable seniors to maintain their dignity by aging at home independently, and for as long as possible. With that vision, Home Instead Senior Care was created.
Home Care Facilities Around the World
Home Instead Senior Care began franchising in June 1995. By 1998, the company had 99 offices in operation and started to experience tremendous growth. That year, Entrepreneur magazine recognized Home Instead Senior Care as one of the 100 fastest growing companies in the US. In 2000, Home Instead Senior Care began to develop internationally by partnering with Duskin Corporation in Osaka Japan.
Today, there are more than 900 Home Instead Senior Care franchises operating in the United States, Puerto Rico, Japan, Canada, Australia, Portugal, Spain, Ireland, Germany, New Zealand, Northern Italy, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Taiwan, Austria, Finland, and New Zealand.
Home Instead Employees & CAREGivers
Nearly 65,000 specially trained CAREGivers are employed by the Home Instead Senior Care network, providing countless hours of Alzheimer’s and home senior care services per year. In fact, it is the CAREGivers who set Home Instead Senior Care apart from all other home care providers. Once hired, CAREGivers are given on-going training opportunities to help enhance their care giving skills. Some Home Instead Senior Care locations even offer their CAREGivers access to specialized Alzheimer’s and Personal Care Assistant training.
In 2003, The American Society on Aging even recognized Home Instead, Inc. as the Small Business of the Year for their exclusive CAREGiver training program that was designed by the world-renowned experts of The George G. Glenner Alzheimer’s Family Center.
